If you are considering a psychological appointment at my private clinic then hopefully this blog will bring some insight to the process. I work with many via zoom however this blog post is connected if you are attending in person at my psychology clinic in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Clinic has been opened over 15 years in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Clinic has expanded in recent years to include a dedicated space for mediation & mindfulness to compliment your therapeutic journey, a library of psychology books to browse & lend and a waiting area for self refection to journal prior to your appointment.
Prior to attending clinic you will have a telephone consultation with no charge for 15 minutes. This is to ensure clinic and the way I work is suitable for your needs. There is no right or wrong way to feel for attending your first appointment. You might feel anxious mixed with hope when attending. 99.9% who have attended clinic reported at the end of the first session feeling hope for the future and it was a good decision for attending. Some attend clinic individually, within a couple or family.
Clinic is on a private residential street, tucked away to ensure your privacy. Free parking ensures one less thing for you to have to worry about. We are a short walk away from the metro in Jesmond and bus links for the city. Finding a location for the first time can be anxiety evoking for some and that’s okay. Providing a little bit more time to find the location might be useful for you.
Clinic is bespoke so you will only meet me during your time at clinic. Upon welcoming you, you will then be directed to the waiting area which is a supportive space for reflection and holistic wellbeing, filled with books, wisdom cards, candles lit and music playing. Many of my clients feel relaxed in the clinic space to play music of their taste and hoping in time this will too happen for you. You will be shown the meditation space, restroom and then we go to the main therapy room.
The therapy room is holistic in approach with camomile tea and chilled water available. It is is a warm cosy room with a large sofa and soft furnishings. Candles are usually lit. During our telephone consultation I will have found about your needs of therapy and we will discuss this further. Balancing the here and now whilst taking a history. Treatment plans and goals are always spoke about during this session. It is okay to not know your goals of therapy, I am here to support and guide as much as you require. Treatment options will be discussed.
To contact for a free consultation please email or telephone so this can be booked at your convenience.
